Patti Watson, OMT, RDH, BS

Hi and welcome! I'm Patti Watson, a myofunctional therapist, and owner of MYOwnHEALTH, LLC, and I'm so happy you're here!  I graduated from Idaho State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene, but this was only the beginning of my journey towards becoming a myofunctional therapist.

Over the years as a dental hygienist in clinical practice as well as a mom of four kids with various health, sleep, and orthodontic issues, I began to ask questions that often went unanswered: Why do so many kids need palatal expanders and sometimes more than one phase of orthodontic treatment? Why do so many people have sleep apnea and other sleep issues? Why are so many suffering from a multitude of gastrointestinal issues? Why the explosion in ADHD diagnoses? It seemed to me that we were often treating the symptoms of these issues, but not necessarily getting to the root of why they are there to begin with!

As I learned about myofunctional therapy with its natural approach to the neuromuscular re-education of the muscles of the tongue, lips, cheeks, and throat, my questions soon became my passion!  I began to investigate how craniofacial development, airway, breathing, and tongue position were massively linked to the big issues of quality sleep, proper swallowing, and overall health and well-being.

As a myofunctional therapist, I serve as an important link in a network of professionals committed to helping you improve your overall health including orthodontists, dentists, ENT's, speech/language pathologists, and other health professionals. With a physical location at 112 W. Main Street in Craigmont, Idaho (only 45 minutes south of the Lewiston/Clarkston valley) and the ability to see clients online,  I am grateful to be able to serve my clients as a myofunctional therapist wherever they are located.

I am very passionate about what I do! I make it a priority to spend extra time with each of my patients to make sure they are comfortable and understand the process.

I love educating my patients by creating awareness, addressing and correcting oral function, and most of all, helping them to change their lives for the better. To learn more about myofunctional therapy, the answers to my "why" questions above, and what I can do to help YOU, spend some time perusing my website and/or make an appointment for a FREE 30 minute consultation with me. I'd love to hear from you!
